The GalleriesWestern North Carolina...I know I could spend the rest of my life photographing the diversity of wildflowers, trees, mountain vistas, and wildlife and still not be able to capture all the beauty that nature has provided in this one small area of the world.
I consider myself very fortunate to be able to call Graham County my home. There are not many places left on earth where one can find the beauty, serenity and privacy that can be found in this remote area of Western North Carolina. My husband Charles and I have lived here for 28 years and have come to love and value the quality of the life we have made here. |

favorite photos are close-ups of wildflowers. It is so
easy to take for granted so much natural beauty when I am surrounded
by it daily, but when I can take the time to stop for a moment and
look at the intricacies of a "simple" flower, the
wonder and the miracle of the life around me returns. It is my
wish that through my photos, you also may experience some of this
wonder.
The Appalachian Mountains in the southwestern corner of North Carolina offer some of the most breathtakingly beautiful scenery to be found. We are located in the middle of the Nantahala National Forest - within an hour of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, the Appalachian Trail, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway, and the Slickrock Wilderness Area. Rivers, streams, waterfalls, and beautiful mountain vistas are around every corner. Currently, my work is being shown at the Wickwire Gallery in Hendersonville, NC and at Country Thyme in Robbinsville, NC. Please drop in and visit if ever in the western North Carolina area. About the PrintsAll Matted Prints are Limited Editions - Signed and Numbered. Each of the matted 8x10 prints (fits 11x14 frame), 11x14 prints (fits 16x20 frame) and 13x19 prints (fits 20x26 frame) will be limited to a production of 200 and will be numbered and signed by the photographer. All photos were taken with Sony digital cameras. I started with the Sony F-505. I now use the Sony F-707 five megapixel camera while my husband uses an eight megapixel Sony F-828. These cameras are equipped with Carl Zeiss lenses, and provide superb macro capability. I print my photos on Epson R-1800 photo printers using Epson Velvet Fine Art or Arches Infinity matte papers. This combination provides an archival life and light resistance rating of over 100 years - longer than most traditional photographic prints. I do all of my mounting and matting using acid free Crescent matting and backboard. All matted prints are double matted using either a white core or black core depending on the colors of the print.
